Who this is for
Three trades, picked in your settings and narrowable per job. Bid one of them or all three — a company that does two is the normal case, not the exception. Commercial interiors, tenant fit-outs and multi-family, and the concrete and framing under them, are what it is aimed at.
Interior finishes
Steel or wood stud walls, drywall, insulation, ceilings, doors and windows, paint.
Concrete
Slabs on grade and elevated, foundation walls and footings, columns, beams, curbs, stairs, sidewalks, steps, toppings and any shape by depth — the concrete itself, not the floor covering that goes on it.
Wood framing
Floor systems, roofs, beams and headers, sheathing, stairs, decks and dormers — counted and measured from your framing types. Sizes stay the drawings' and the engineer's.
Bidding one line of it rather than the lot? A wall, floor or framing type buys only what you put in it. An insulation sub's wall type has batts and nothing else; a painter's has primer and paint. You take off your own scope, not somebody else's.
Not for you if you bid electrical, mechanical or plumbing. The analysis reads text rather than counting symbols, so it does not count devices, fixtures or receptacles — and we would rather say so now than take your money.
How it holds up
Where every number comes from
Accuracy claims in this business are easy to make and impossible to verify. So rather than a figure you would have to take on trust, here is how the software is built — three things you can check yourself, on your own job, in an afternoon.
Why it is built this way
A takeoff that is fast and wrong does not cost you an afternoon, it costs you the margin on the job. The expensive mistake in this trade has never been a slow estimate — it is a confident number nobody can trace back to the sheet it came from.
So the product is built to be checkable rather than to be impressive. It would rather flag something and interrupt you than produce a tidy figure that quietly guessed.
What we do not claim
- It is not an estimator. It reads, organises and prices — you decide what the bid says, and nothing goes out under your name that you have not confirmed.
- It reads text, not pictures. A receptacle drawn as a symbol is never counted for you; you count it in a few clicks and the count keeps its evidence like everything else.
- Drawings vary, and so does what it can read. Scanned sheets go through OCR and every number read from a scan is flagged for your review. A sheet too faint to read is reported to you as unreadable rather than skipped quietly.
You should not have to take any of this on trust. The free project takes a set of up to 75 sheets, and every figure it produces carries the sheet and the spot it came from. Run it against a job you have already bid, where you already know what the answers should be.
The problem
Estimating shouldn't feel like this
Counting partitions with a scale rule
Every wall on every floor plan, measured by hand and tallied on a pad — then measured again when an addendum moves a partition type.
The arithmetic after the measuring
Board to sheets, sheets to tape and compound, area to gallons, each with its own waste factor. It is where the quiet mistakes live.
A number you can't back up
When the PM asks why the board count went up, "that's what I got" is not an answer. You need the wall it came from.
The shape of a job
How it works
Upload plans
Drag in your blueprint PDFs. Sheets are readable in the viewer before analysis even starts.
It reads the schedules
Doors, windows and finishes, lifted out of the schedule tables and tagged to the sheet and region they came from.
You draw or confirm the walls
Confirm the scale once per sheet, then click along each partition — or check and confirm the walls it suggests in red (beta, every plan) and draw the ones it missed. Depth is measured on the drawing too, and a length can be typed over the drawn one.
Walls become materials
Pick a wall type and get the studs, board, batts, tape, compound and paint — arithmetic beside every quantity, openings taken out, shared walls framed once and finished twice. Then a priced estimate and a client-ready proposal.
And the next bid is better
Log the hours your crews actually work against what you bid them at. What you charged, what they produced, and what you won builds up into your own numbers — from your jobs only, never anyone else's.
Would rather watch than read? Two minutes, start to finish, with the arithmetic on screen.

Straight answers
Frequently asked questions
How accurate is it?
We do not publish an accuracy percentage, and we would treat one carefully if you saw it elsewhere — extraction depends on the drawing, and a single number across all drawings does not mean much. What we can tell you is how it behaves: anything it cannot confidently resolve is flagged for you rather than guessed at, a quantity that is not written down is never invented, and nothing reaches your takeoff without a source you can click back to. The honest test is your own — so we publish every formula the software uses, run on a worked example, on the Check our math page. Compare it to a job you have already bid; it takes about two minutes and you do not have to sign up to do it.
What can't it do yet?
Not every wall is found, and nothing goes into your takeoff unless you confirm it. On every plan, wall suggestions (beta) propose walls from a CAD drawing's own lines and mark them in red on the plan: you check each one against the drawing, fix its numbers — including any height read from the drawing's room tags, finish schedule or notes — accept or reject it, and draw the walls it missed. Suggestions miss walls and mark things that are not walls, and a scanned sheet gets none. Otherwise you set the scale once per sheet and click along each wall, the way you would with a scale rule but once instead of twice. What happens next is the part that saves the evening: the wall becomes studs, board, batts, tape, compound and paint, with the arithmetic shown, and the doors and windows come out of the schedule rather than off your pad. The analysis reads text, not symbols, so it does not count devices, fixtures or receptacles drawn as symbols, and an electrical or plumbing takeoff is not something we do today.
Is my data used to train AI models?
No. Uploaded documents are not used to train third-party models.
Do you compare my prices against other contractors?
No. Everything the product shows you about your pricing, your crews' output and your win rate comes from your own past jobs and nothing else. Your numbers are never pooled with anyone else's, and nothing about your account is shown to another company. That does mean the comparisons are worth little on your first job and a great deal by your tenth — so the product tells you how many jobs each figure rests on rather than presenting a number it has not earned.
